Black Pepper Dutch Smoked Cheese is a soft and creamy processed cheese emulsified with cracked Black Pepper and gently cold-smoked over wood at the end of its ripening. The smoking gives the cheese its characteristic bold flavour and dark brown exterior. Due to its long tube shape, this cheese is popularly known as a “smoked cheese sausage” in The Netherlands.
The Black Pepper gives the smoked cheese a delicious mild heat which pairs beautifully with the smoke flavour. Serve it cubed in a salad, in a sandwich, or on a cheese platter with a chilled glass of a Riesling.
Note: Each Dutch Smoked Cheese log is coated in a thin layer of parchment paper to protect it. Peel the paper off before digging in.

Westzaner, a family-run cheesemaker, has been producing traditional Dutch cheese since 1908. They specialise in naturally-ripened cheese like Gouda and Edam, as well as processed smoked cheese in a variety of flavours. Milk for the cheese is sourced directly from farms in the northern provinces of the Netherlands, and the cheese is carefully aged in temperature and humidity controlled warehouses until they reach their desired flavour and texture.
